Class bells replaced with fire alarms

Right when school safety seemed to get out of control once again Douglas responded by making an unorthodox change. The class bell, a classic sound that makes or breaks a students day, is being replaced with the roaring and lovable fire alarm.

“There’s no way to tell when a fire will happen,” added fire chief Jackson. “Why not be ready every period of the day?” While students may not like the idea of having 7 different fire drills, others don’t seem to mind; “I actually feel safer now,” stated a first week freshman. “I haven’t seen any fires to date”.

The principal denies that it’s just to save money by stating “The bell did cost us a lot, but can you really put a price on the safety of our students?”
